Power automation Monitoring

Distribution Automation

Today, much of the electric grid is already being monitored and displayed in control rooms. Utilities are now moving towards Distribution Automation to monitor and control disparate points of use and energy generation. Silversmith's Data Points End to End technology allows utilities to efficiently capture more of the remote "in between" locations where data is hard to collect, providing a more granular data set for even better control and optimization. By monitoring volt-VAR levels in real time at end of line distribution points, a control system can improve operations and keep it optimized. Having sensors on the system becomes even more important as plug-in electric vehicles and photovoltaics become more prevalent in achieving renewable portfolio standards, which will create the need for measuring bi-directional power flow.
